Bubblefall – 2007
Well
received piece, needs to be seen up close to fully appreciate the subtle
methods of texturing, I think I experimented more than most with this one and
the result is ‘interesting’ but in a very good way!
If
you have a look at my ‘collections’ page you can see it in-situ at one of the
Restaurants I exhibit at.
It
is presented on a 1m x 0.8m box canvas.
Bubblefall
has been produced by laying 4 successive layers of texture onto the canvas,
sealed, and then painted using a combination of dark and light blues and also benefits
from a number of lacquer coats to enhance the finish.
One of the pieces
where colour has just been married so well with the texture, in the right
ambient lighting one can be forgiven for seeing fluidity in the piece.
